Susan Van Metre is Executive Editorial Director of Walker Books US, a division of Candlewick Press. She spent 15 years at Abrams, where she founded the Amulet Books imprint. Eventually, she became Senior Vice President and Publisher of the children's division for six years, running four imprints: Amulet Books, Abrams Books for Young Readers, Abrams Appleseed, and Abrams ComicArts. Prior to Abrams, she spent 12 years in editorial roles at Penguin USA.
  
Susan has edited El Deafo by Cece Bell, the Origami Yoda series by Tom Angleberger, the Internet Girls series by Lauren Myracle, They Say Blue by Jillian Tamaki, and many other notable books. She was our workshop’s much-appreciated faculty editor in 2011. Welcome back, Susan!
